Access should not depend on tolerating distress
Advocate Not Adversary targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. The site has been self-reviewed and tested in code, but it has not received a complete independent accessibility audit and does not claim certified conformance.
Current accessibility features
- A skip link, semantic headings, labeled controls, visible keyboard focus, focus containment in dialogs, Escape-to-close behavior, and focus return.
- A safety splash before optional decorative animation. No animation or video starts before a visitor chooses. Reduced motion is the safer default and the complete page remains available without decorative animation.
- Support for the browser’s reduced-motion preference, responsive layouts, reflow on small screens, large control targets, text alternatives for functional icons, and text that does not depend on color alone.
- Jared’s Guided Access, an optional deterministic guide with short steps and predictable Back, Next, and Close controls. It does not ask for a diagnosis or create a special account.
- Plain-language notices before chat, separate human and AI labels, non-autoplay media rules, and a visible route back to policy and safety information.
- An advertising safety lock: the site may store a public AdSense publisher ID for ownership verification, but it does not load third-party ad code or creatives.
Motion, flashing, and physical reactions
A warning is not a substitute for safe content. No advertisement may flash, animate, cause or induce seizures, cover content, change navigation, or obstruct an interface. Third-party AdSense serving remains locked off in Master Control and the server. The separate sponsorship control permits only an owner-reviewed plain-text card and HTTPS link in the normal reading flow, with no animation, tracking pixel, remote artwork, video, fixed positioning, or overlay. The actual sponsor and wording require review before activation. New site animation, video, or proposed sponsorship artwork requires keyboard, reduced-motion, flashing, cognitive-load, zoom, and reflow review. The current build has not been certified with a photosensitive-epilepsy analysis tool; no software can guarantee the same physical response for every visitor, and any concern should be reported immediately.
Known limitations
- Some PDF downloads and older resource files have not completed independent screen-reader, reading-order, form-field, tagging, color-contrast, and 200-percent-zoom testing. Where an HTML version exists, it may be more accessible. An alternate format can be requested through Corrections Management.
- AI-generated text can be confusing, repetitive, inaccurate, or cognitively demanding even when the interface is accessible. Chris AI is optional; no essential site information requires using it.
- Etsy, beehiiv, TikTok, YouTube, 988, government resources, and other linked services control their own accessibility.
- Automated checks cannot establish full accessibility. People using screen readers, switch access, voice control, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, and other assistive technology may find barriers that current tests missed.

Open Corrections Management from the homepage, choose Website correction or Privacy or safety concern, and describe the page, control, format, assistive technology, browser, and what you were trying to do. Include only the minimum information needed. Andrew may prepare a correction; Christopher owns the final publication decision.
